What happens after I file for Unemployment?

After applying for Unemployment, you will receive a written notice or email from the department stating your application has been received. Your notification preference (U.S. Postal versus electronically) is set during the unemployment application process.

A calendar is provided below to reveal what happens from the moment you file to when a decision is made.

Please note: This 4-week timeframe is subject to change due to high volume.

Unemployment claimants may check their status online using our Unemployment Tracker. The tool allows for a new ease in finding your status, providing the same information available from our customer service representatives.
