You can receive a maximum of $275 per week for a 26-week duration. Eligible claimants receive an average benefit amount of $225/week over 13 weeks.
Such monies are funded by the Unemployment Insurance (UI) program, paid by Tennessee employers. This program is designed for workers who have lost their job through no fault of their own.
For an individualized estimate of how much money you can receive, applicants are given a monetary determination letter, projecting both a benefit amount and decision timeframe.
After filing your claim, look for work and certify each week.
Please note that you may earn either $50 or 25 percent of your weekly benefit amount (whichever amount is greater) without reducing your weekly benefits.
Example: If you are receiving the maximum amount of $275 each week, you may earn 25 percent ($68.75) and still receive the full $275.
If you are receiving $175 a week, you may earn up to $50, as 25 percent of $175 is $43.75. Furthermore, you weekly benefit will not be reduced because your wages fall within the parameter.
