Are there special rules for sole proprietors or partners?

Sole proprietors and partners who devote full time to the proprietorship or partnership are not considered to be an employee under Tennessee Workers’ Compensation law.  However, sole proprietors and partners are allowed to elect to be considered to be an employee by completing and submitting an “Election of Sole Proprietor or Partner to come within the Provisions of the Tennessee Workers’ Compensation Law, Form I-4
