If you received unemployment benefits within the last year, you must report the total amount (as found on your 1099-G) on your federal taxes. The Form 1099-G reports the full taxable unemployment benefits paid to you from the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development for a calendar year and the federal income tax withheld, if applicable. 1099-G's are issued around the end of January each year.
If you have not received a copy of your 1099-G for the 2023 tax year, you may request a copy at any time through your Claimant e-Services account.
To do so, log in to your account and from the Summary screen locate the Additional Services tab.
From the Additional Services tab, select the “Request Copy of 1099” under the Letter panel.
