Unemployment benefit recipients can receive payments through direct deposit into a personal checking account. If the recipient is eligible, the payments are released 48-72 business hours after completing the weekly certification. These payments are transmitted to your bank account like a payroll check. Payments may be delayed if there is a banking holiday.
The department cannot deposit Unemployment Claim Benefit funds to a personal pre-paid debit card due to security reasons. You may change your payment type at any time in your Unemployment Claimant e-Services account.
