Rapid Response is a required activity under WIOA to be carried out in local areas by the chief elected officials (CEOs), and other stakeholders. Rapid Response involves strategies and activities necessary to (1) plan for and quickly respond to announcements of business closures and layoffs (2) deliver services that enable dislocated workers to transition to new employment as quickly as possible; and (3) address the needs of businesses in transition to prevent and minimize the duration of unemployment.
