Mine Safety Unit
The Mine Safety Unit conducts training, obtains annual statistical reports from mining companies, issues licenses to operate, examines and certifies mine foreman, and provides rescue coverage to underground mines. With associated danger training, the unit protects miners from injuries and fatalities. The goal is to produce proactive and reactive results. Safety and health training classes are provided by seasoned instructors throughout the state. Instructors provide new miner, refresher, and first aid classes and also meet electrical, foreman, and compliance requirements.
