Registered Apprenticeship Programs
An Apprenticeship is a proven training program that is used as a talent development strategy for recruiting, training, and retaining world-class talent and has been used in industry for decades. Apprenticeships are registered and validated by the U.S. Department of Labor.
Apprenticeships are a work-based learning model where apprentices have supervised on-the-job training, along with job-related education, all while earning a wage that increases during the progression of the program.
Apprenticeship programs are intended for long-term employment.
Pre-Apprenticeship
A pre-apprenticeship program is coursework or training designed to prepare individuals to enter and succeed in a registered apprenticeship program. Once participants complete the pre-apprenticeship program, they will be able to interview with the employer to enter a registered apprenticeship program. A pre-apprenticeship program, by definition, has a documented partnership with at least one Registered Apprenticeship program. Pre-Apprenticeship Programs may or may not include a paid position with the employer.
State-Certified Pre-Apprenticeship Programs
A State-Certified Pre-Apprenticeship Program is a proven system used to create a pipeline of candidates for a defined Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP). Once an employer establishes a RAP, Apprenticeship TN can assist in creating a Pre-Apprenticeship program that will connect individuals to prepare for an entry-level RAP. Areas mainly served: Students, Adult Ed, Justice-Involved, veterans and individuals with disabilities. Pre-Apprenticeships focus on approved training curriculum, strategies for long-term success, meaningful hands-on training and wrap-around support services when needed.
